The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing based at Miramar announced it is preparing for a major exercise next week known as Winter Fury. The exercise will be conducted from Jan. 19 to Feb, 19 at training locations across Southern California, Arizona, and the coastal islands.

A Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Sunday, the seventh consecutive day there has been such an incursion, according to Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND). The aircraft, an electronic warfare version of China's Y-8 transport plane, entered the airspace southwest of Taiwan between Taiwan and the Dongsha (Pratas) Islands in the South China Sea, according to a chart provided by the MND.
