Finland’s $12 billion fighter plan dodges the post-pandemic budget axe

The Finnish government’s budget proposal for 2021 has allayed concerns of delays or reduced funding for the Armed Forces’ (FAF) HX Fighter Program. The plan will effectively increase the military’s budgetary framework in 2021 by $2 billion to $5.8 billion to meet phase one of the project’s procurement costs.

The agreement to formalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates did not include allowing the latter to purchase F-35 fighter jets, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said on Tuesday, following reports to the contrary. Furthermore, the agreement did not include any arms deals between the US and the UAE.

Rafael jet jitters China, J-20 stealth combat aircraft deployed near Ladakh

The direct impact of the latest Rafale fighter jet from France to India is now clearly visible on the China border. Fearful of Rafale, China has deployed its most modern Chengdu J-20 fighter fighter jet at its Hotan airbase, 200 miles from Ladakh. Pictures from the satellite have seen the deployment of a 2J-20 fighter jet at Hotan Airbase Base in China. Earlier these fighter jets were not seen earlier on this airbase. Pictures of the J-20 jet are viral in Chinese media.
