Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim rattled NATO allies with recent remarks suggesting that Russian warplanes could share Incirlik Air Base with the U.S. before adding that it wasn't likely to happen. Moscow hasn't asked to use Incirlik, and "Russia doesn't need to use the base. They have bases in Syria," Yildirim told foreign reporters in Istanbul on Saturday, according to Turkish news outlets. "Russia had no demands to use Incirlik Air Base. Those reports are not true."

Iran`s Ministry of Defense (MoD) is planning to start negotiations with Russia over the acquisition of Sukhoi combat aircraft, Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said in an interview to an Iranian TV channel on August 22.

In its latest missile test, North Korea has reportedly launched a projectile from a submarine, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency. The launch occurred from a vessel in the Sea of Japan, off North Korea's eastern coast, officials with South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff told Yonhap.
